Description

Mill & Mortar’s smoked salt adds rich umami to savoury dishes. It combines the sharp tang of sea salt with subtle smokiness. It’s great with fish and Nordic-inspired recipes.

Seawater is evaporated in large pans, where the sun and wind create salt pyramids. These pyramids are gently smoked over beech wood shavings. The salt is turned each morning to ensure the flavour is equally distributed.

You can use smoked salt in marinades, sauces and rubs. Or, add it as a finishing touch at the end of cooking. The smoky flavour is great with steak and smoked salmon.

We like to sprinkle smoked salt over omelettes and cheese soufflés. The smoky, mineral taste can elevate a classic fish pie or beef stew. It’s also great with potato dishes, from silky mash to creamy Dauphinoise.
