Morelli Gigli pasta is a Tuscan speciality. It has a flower-like shape with delicate, ruffled edges. Gigli is the Italian word for ‘lillies’.
With a 4-minute cooking time, gigli is great for midweek meals. Toss it with buttery sauces or fresh pistachio pesto. In Tuscany, gigli is also paired with slow cooked beef ragu.
For something a little different, make gigli alla Norcina. Originating from Umbria, this comforting dish pairs Italian sausage with cream and Pecorino. Some recipes add mushrooms and a pinch of grated nutmeg.
Morelli pasta is bronze-drawn and dried slowly at low temperatures. This is the secret to the rough surface that helps sauces to cling.
